I currently am the medical director of a multispecialty wellness center and neuropsychiatric practice and consult for a local community hospital and a large Retirement Community in Southern Ohio.
I perform comprehensive neuropsychiatric evaluations of patients with disorders of behavior, either from primary psychological processes (personality disorders, psychological trauma among others) or in combination to a primary neurological process (like traumatic brain injury, multiple sclerosis, Huntington's disease, Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease and other nervous system diseases). There are also a number of disorders that can affect your behavior and have complicated effects and origins in different parts of the body, like hormonal and immune system effects. These can cause or make worse things like depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders and schizophrenia - which all of course have direct effects on the brain and behavior.
Collectively, I have over 15 years of experience working with patients from children above the age of five through adolescence onward to the geriatric population in individual psychotherapy, couples therapy, family therapy, and group therapy; including full neuropsychiatric evaluations taking into consideration a neurological exam, imaging studies, nutritional evaluations, psychological testing, hormonal testing and immune system evaluations.
I have always used a client-centered/specific approach to treat a wide range of conditions including:
Depression and suicidal feelings, Anxiety disorders – obsessive-compulsive, body dysmorphic, panic, and agoraphobia, Drug and alcohol addictions, Self-esteem and self-image problems, Personality disorders, Marital and relationship conflicts, Eating disorders, Psychotic disorders such as bipolar illness and schizophrenia
